I was born and raised here in SW Missouri, and will probably always call this area home. I like the kind of laid back atmosphere we have in the Ozarks.
I've been fortunate enough to have many good learning experiences and different accomplishments thus far. I've practiced and competed in martial arts since I was 12 years old, and have a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I was in the Army for 3 years where I was a soldier medic. I'm kind of an adrenaline junky, and have been skydiving, bungee jumping, scuba diving, and recently have fallen in love with riding motorcycles.
During the summer, you'll always find me either at the shop or on my Harley tearing up the roads! I've been a passionate book lover for a little over 10 years now, and in the wintertime try to read 3-4 books a week. Nothing quite like a good book and a hot cup of coffee on a cold day!
One of my biggest achienments has been becoming a Freemason and a Shriner. I'm a 32nd degree Mason, and very active in the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Mosque here in Springfield. Know a child who has a bone or joint problem or has been burned? Ask a Shriner for help....thats why we're here!
Artistic expression has always been a passion, and from the time I got my first tattoo in the Army, I've been hooked. I've been tattooing for 17 years now...7 years part time, and since 2000 full time. I worked for another shop here in Springfield till 2007, then opened Renaissance Tattoo with one of my best friends and a very gifted artist, Kenny Gaines.
We decided Springfield needed a classy, family friendly tattoo studio where everyone would feel welcome, and according to feedback, have accomplished that goal.
My favorite tattoo's to do are big custom pieces, and lately I've really enjoyed just drawing a sketch on someone and letting our minds come up with the perfect tattoo for each individual client.
