Renaissance Tattoo - Springfield, Mo
Don't gamble with your skin. A cheap tattoo now may cost you hundreds of dollars to fix later or even worse, may cost you your health.
Tattooing's our obsession and main purpose. It’s why we exist. If you are serious about an excellent tattoo from a professional, look no further, you've found your shop at Renaissance Tattoo Studio in Springfield, Missouri.
Tattoos should reflect who you are and what you like. Take your time and make sure your tattoo will be something that you can live with. Don't be limited to what a studio has on hand.
Part of finding the perfect tattoo for you involves explaining your ideas to the tattooist, bringing in drawings for references and having confidence in the tattoo artist. All of our tattooists can draw a custom design for you. You should discuss size, color, and placement with the tattoo artist....
Old tattoos that may or may not have been done very well are something we all enjoy breathing new life into.
If a tattoo was done badly or just seems too far gone, we will happy to do a cover up to give you a brand new tattoo that you can be proud of.
History of tattoos - A tattoo, or dermal pigmentation, is a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin for decorative or other reasons. Tattoos on humans are a type of decorative body modification, while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding. Tattooing has been practiced worldwide. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, wore facial tattoos, as do some Maori of New Zealand to this day. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples, and among certain tribal groups in the Philippines, Borneo, Mentawai Islands, Africa, North America, South America, Mesoamerica, Europe, Japan, Cambodia, New Zealand and China. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular all over the world.Tattooing has been a Eurasian practice at least since Neolithic times. Ötzi the Iceman, dating from the fourth to fifth millennium BCE, was found in the Ötz valley in the Alps and had approximately 57 carbon tattoos consisting of simple dots and lines on his lower spine, behind his left knee, and on his right ankle.
